Carpenter Group has announced its collaboration with Public Allies to strengthen the nonprofit’s online presence with a repositioned website. Public Allies – one of the original models for national service – was recently recognized by President Obama at the signing ceremony for the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. This landmark legislation will dramatically expand national service opportunities.
The new website is built around Public Allies’ central tenet that “Everyone leads.” To help bring this concept to life, Carpenter Group developed a design vocabulary that features bold typography and candid photos of Public Allies’ young adult leaders in action.

According to Nell Daniel, Vice President of Marketing and Development for Public Allies, “When the time came for Public Allies to refresh its public website, I immediately turned to Carpenter Group because of its expertise in interactive marketing as well as its user-centric focus.”
“While our core business is primarily focused on the financial services and insurance industries, Carpenter Group has a long history of community involvement,” says Polly Carpenter, President and founder. “Through our pro bono work with Public Allies, we were able to do our part in serving our nation in a time of need.”
Founded in 1992, Public Allies’ mission is to advance new leadership to strengthen communities, nonprofits and civic participation. We are changing the face and practice of leadership in communities across the country by demonstrating our conviction that everyone can lead, and that lasting social change results when citizens of all backgrounds step up, take responsibility, and work together for change. For 17 years, Public Allies has been at the forefront of efforts to redefine leadership, both who should be identified and cultivated as leaders and what kinds of leadership styles and practices are effective in a flatter, faster, and more diverse world. We believe the next generation of leaders should look like America will look, connect across cultures, facilitate collaborative action, be rooted in and know their community, commit to self-development, and be accountable to the people they work with and the communities they serve. We develop leaders that bring people together, build more effective organizations, and mobilize more people from all backgrounds in civic life. This commitment to inclusive, community-centered leadership has made us a premier pipeline for developing diverse young nonprofit and community leaders, and a recognized source for effective leadership approaches that are right for our changing times.
