Texas-based Westwood had grown significantly since it was founded in 1983. As an investment manager, It offered high-conviction equity investment management solutions, serving institutional clients and advisors domestically and internationally. In wealth management, it provided services through teams in Dallas and Houston. Additionally, it was about to launch a national digital wealth management platform. Across all, the firm had a high level of expertise expressed in the idea of “investing where it counts.”

However, rapid change had left the firm siloed geographically and philosophically — and its web presence reflected it, with multiple sites, a dated look and difficult navigation that didn’t reflect Westwood’s global identity and forward-looking direction.

We created personas and crafted user journeys to help us — and Westwood — define why site visitors would come, where they would go and what they would want to find. Doing this revealed a need for simplified navigation, along with thought leadership content that would define the meaning of “investing where it counts” across their offerings.

Our information architecture brought all business lines under a single site with a highly simplified, intuitive navigation, which would feature easy-to-update thought leadership content. We then created a user interface design that was clean, modern, global and reflected where Westwood was going.

Carpenter Group created a website that engaged Westwood’s audiences, communicated breadth and depth within its lines of business and positioned it as a sophisticated player on a global level. With an online venue that supported its belief in “investing where it counts,” Westwood was able to generate content and thought leadership, elevate its brand and prepare for future growth.
